Question:
My husband is a revert but does not practice Islam. He now says that he is not a Muslim anymore. Is our Nikah still valid?
Answer:
No. Your Nikah is no longer valid. The Nikah terminates upon the husband renouncing the religion of Islam. (al-Fatawa al-Hindiyyah, Vol: 1, Pg: 339 & Jawahirul Fiqh, Vol: 2, Pg: 136)
