Is there a Hadith wherein Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) has said that women will enter the workforce before the coming of Judgement Day? I read it as one of the signs of the hour.
Answer:
Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded a narration of such nature on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Adda ibn Khalid (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

Translation
Sayyiduna ‘Adda ibn Khalid (radiyallahu ‘anhu) has narrated: “I heard Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) say: ‘The [Final] Hour will not take place until a man only greets the one he knows, the Masjids are taken as pathways, both the woman and her husband conduct business, and women as well as horses become cheap, never again holding significant value till the Day of Judgement.’”
Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has also recorded a very similar narration as the statement of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu). Nonetheless, both the context and nature of this narration are such that Sayyiduna Ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu) will be understood to have heard it from Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) (مرفوع حكما).

Imam Hakim (rahimahullah) has graded the chain of this narration (of Ibn Masu’d – radiyallahu ‘anhu) as authentic.

The following Hadith was reported by Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu), wherein Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) has said:
إن بين يدي الساعة تسليم الخاصة وفشو التجارة حتى تعين المرأة زوجها على التجارة وقطع الأرحام وشهادة الزور وكتمان شهادة الحق وظهور القلم
Translation
Hereunder is an explanatory translation of the aforementioned text of the Hadith:
‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu) has mentioned that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) has said:
‘Verily before the final hour people will only greet those that they know. Business will become so widespread and extensive that even the wife will [begin to] assist her husband in it [i.e., in amassing wealth]. Families will [begin to] cut off ties. People will [begin to] give false testimony, and those bearing the truth will [begin to] conceal it. [Finally,] Forgetfulness will also become so rampant that the people of knowledge will be forced into writing things down to preserve it.

حدثنا علي بن حمشاذ العدل، حدثنا إسماعيل بن إسحاق القاضي، حدثنا عمرو بن مرزوق، أنبأ شعبة، عن حصين، عن عبد الأعلى بن الحكم – رجل من بني عامر -، عن خارجة بن الصلت البرجمي، قال: «دخلتمععبداللهيوماالمسجد،فإذاالقومركوع،فمررجلفسلمعليه،فقال: صدقاللهورسولهصدقاللهورسوله،فسألتهعنذلك،فقال: إنهلاتقومالساعةحتىتتخذالمساجدطرقا،وحتىيسلمالرجلعلىالرجلبالمعرفة،وحتىتتجرالمرأةوزوجها،وحتىتغلوالخيلوالنساء،ثمترخصفلاتغلوإلىيومالقيامة».
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد وقد أسند هذه الكلمات بشير بن سلمان في روايته، ثم صار الحديث برواية شعبة هذه صحيحا ولم يخرجاه.

والطبراني إلا أنه قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: «لاتقومالساعةحتىيكونالسلامعلىالمعرفة،وإنهذاعرفنيمنبينكمفسلمعلي،وحتىتتخذالمساجدطرقافلايسجدللهفيها،وحتىيبعثالغلامالشيخبريدابينالأفقين،وحتىيبلغالتاجربينالأفقينفلايجدربحا».
وفي رواية عنده: «وأنتغلوالنساءوالخيلثمترخصفلاتغلوإلىيومالقيامة،وأنيتجرالرجلوالمرأةجميعا».
ورجال أحمد والبزار رجال الصحيح.
(٩٤٨٦) – حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم الدبري، عن عبد الرزاق، عن الثوري، عن حصين، عن عبد الأعلى، قال: دخلت المسجد مع ابن مسعود فركع فمر عليه رجل، وهو راكع فسلم عليه، فقال: «صدق الله ورسوله»، فلما انصرف، قال: كان يقال: «من أشراط الساعة أن يسلم الرجل على الرجل للمعرفة، وتتخذ المساجد طرقا، وأن تغلو النساء والخيل، ثم ترخص فلا تغلو إلى يوم القيامة، وأن يتجر الرجل والمرأة جميعا».
